on any given day take a morning sun's altitude and calculate the observed langitude and LOP at the time of observation. Plot the LOP trough the observed longitude and DR latitude.Also calculate the approximate ships time of the suns meridian passage.
take the suns altutide when your meridian and calculate the observed latitude at the time MP.
''run'' the morning sun sight LOP to the meridian passage LOP and obtain a possition at MP. allow for the run between MP time and Noon time to obtain the position and noon. Compare the position so obtained with that of your GPS and reports findings.
2-Great Circle Sailing Plot a transoceanic Rhumb line track on a Mercator chart between the same ports
used above. Calculate the distance on the Rhumb line track and compare with that on the GC track.
tabulate your result in an organized manner and note down your observation.
